Welcome to Trooping Colours Childminding

Our story

As a family run setting with extensive SEN experience, an early year graduate and  professional chef preparing nutritious home-cooked meals, we  provide a truly unique childcare experience. At Trooping Colours Childminding, we provide a warm, nurturing, and inspiring home-from-home environment where children are encouraged to play, learn, grow, and thrive through exploration, creativity, and meaningful everyday experiences.

As a mother-and-daughter-run childminding business, family values are at the heart of everything we do. We understand how important it is for parents to feel confident that their children are safe, happy, and cared for in a loving environment. Our aim is to create a setting where every child feels valued, supported, and free to develop into their unique selves at their own pace.

Based within our family home, we have created a dedicated childcare setting that combines the comfort of home with rich learning opportunities. Children benefit from a welcoming and familiar environment whilst enjoying spaces specifically designed for their development, learning, and enjoyment.

Our setting

Our setting features two dedicated playrooms, thoughtfully equipped with a wide range of educational resources, creative activities, and engaging toys suitable for children of all ages and stages of development. Whether children enjoy imaginative role play, arts and crafts, construction, sensory exploration, reading, or educational games, there is always something to spark their curiosity and encourage learning through play.

Healthy eating

We also have a dedicated kitchen solely for the childminding setting, where nutritious, home-cooked meals and healthy snacks are prepared each day. We believe healthy eating plays an important role in children’s wellbeing, and we aim to provide balanced meals that children enjoy while encouraging positive eating habits.

Dedicated play space

To further support the needs of the children in our care, we have two dedicated children’s toilet facilities, including a toilet with a shower for comfort, convenience, and any unexpected emergencies. These facilities are separate from the main household areas, ensuring the childminding setting operates as a safe, organised, and child-focused environment.

Outdoor adventures

One of the many things that makes Trooping Colours special is our fantastic location. We are surrounded by beautiful parks, green spaces, playgrounds, and opportunities for outdoor adventures, allowing children to explore nature, develop confidence, and learn through real-world experiences. From nature walks and seasonal activities to outdoor play and local community visits, every day offers exciting opportunities for discovery.

Convenient location

Our setting is also ideally located for busy families. We are conveniently situated close to major motorway links and within easy reach of the MetroLink, making drop-offs and collections straightforward for parents travelling to work or commuting across the region. This allows families to enjoy the benefits of a peaceful, child-focused environment while remaining easily accessible.

Our philosophy

We believe childhood should be filled with wonder, curiosity, creativity, and happiness. Through a balance of structured activities, child-led play, outdoor exploration, and nurturing care, we support children in developing confidence, independence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

At Trooping Colours Childminding, we don’t just care for children—we become part of their journey. We provide a safe and loving environment where little personalities can flourish, friendships can grow, and every child is given the freedom and encouragement to discover who they are.
